Bassey Kooffreh is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies at the University of Mississippi. His primary research interests are Human Trafficking, Transnational Organised Crimes, Transitional Justice, Post Conflict Reconciliation and Comparative Policing. Mr. Bassey has successfully published his research in leading peer-reviewed journals. He has presented his research at prominent conferences such as the American Society of Criminology (ASC), The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS), and The Southern Criminal Justice Association (SCJA). Recognizing his contributions, he has received peer-reviewed grants and awards. Furthermore, Mr. Bassey has been a peer reviewer for respected Journals, including Public Health Reports, Crime & Delinquency, African Human Rights Law Journal, Property Management, and the Journal of School Violence. Before joining the University of Mississippi, he spent the last thirteen years as a legal expert and Law Lecturer, holding both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Law.
