Jessica Zemlak, PhD

Dr. Jessica Zemlak is an assistant professor at the Marquette University College of Nursing. Her research focuses on the physical and mental well-being of marginalized women. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Through her clinical practice, Dr. Zemlak recognized health disparities experienced among women who sell sex and human trafficking survivors. Her research focuses on understanding health holistically through exploring the intersection of substance use, interpersonal violence, and mental health on the well-being of women. Her work employs qualitative, mixed-methods, multi-methods, and community-engaged research.
