Jim Brown, PhD(c)

Jim Brown spent over 30 years in policing, working at the local, provincial, national, and international levels. His experiences spanned technology, training, policy design, and analysis through to organizational change, business process design, and organizational strategic alignment. Following retirement from policing, Jim completed his master’s in security studies specializing in human security and coordinated a series of international summits focused on anti-human trafficking resulting in the establishment of the Global Resource Epicenter Against Human Trafficking (GREAT) in which he serves as the Executive Director. Jim is currently a Doctoral Candidate undertaking research on human trafficking, and an Adjunct Professor of Criminology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology where he lectures on human trafficking and co-ordinates their annual human trafficking conference.
