Lindsay Gezinski, PhD

Dr. Lindsay Gezinski is Associate Professor at the University of Utah College of Social Work where she studies gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and intimate economies among vulnerable and marginalized populations. Specific to sex trafficking, this research has included an examination of intersectional vulnerability, interpersonal and structural violence, health outcomes, technology, and institutional response. Primarily, she conducts qualitative and mixed methods research in collaboration with community partners. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Human Trafficking, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Child Abuse and Neglect, Journal of Family Violence, and Violence Against Women, among others. Dr. Gezinski received her PhD in Social Work and Graduate Minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University in 2011. She holds a MSW and MA in Public Policy and Management, also from The Ohio State University. Formerly, she served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Amsterdam and Leiden University in the Netherlands.
