Join the NYC Fair Trade Coalition community for an evening to learn about fair trade and how to grow the movement.
Agenda:
Fair Trade 101 by Carla Farina of eddys brand, a baby and toddler clothing company using no new cotton and no new plastic. Our yarns are sourced from second-hand sweaters, unraveled, washed, and reknit into cute sweater sets for your kiddos.
AVERY Vintage advocates that secondhand clothing is part of the solution to fashion’s environmental problem. With a focus on modern styles, AV offers a curated selection of vintage while promoting the shift toward lifestyle choices that are better for our planet. To aver is to assert with confidence or declare in a positive manner. AV believes it’s time to change our mindset as a community + aver that less new is actually more!
Yanawara is a purpose driven brand that curates & design clothing and accessories with noble fibers such the alpaca, leather and traditonal textiles, with artisan groups in Bolivia specially women artisans, with the aim to promote their work increasing and scaling the opportunities for the artisanal sector.
Tinguacó Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on community building through educational workshops and projects, with the goal of improving everyday life, promoting sustainable initiatives and strengthening the social fabric across a number of rural communities. Some projects include artisanal workshops, sustainable fashion campaigns and bio-construction.
