Preventing Human Trafficking by Investing in Trauma-Informed Primary Intervention

There are many prevention strategies designed to prevent human trafficking that exist at individual, family, community, organizational, and societal levels. This presentation will review a variety of prevention strategies across the prevention spectrum that address human trafficking with a particular focus on trauma-informed prevention in the child welfare sector. Highlights from a recent qualitative study which investigated how professionals in the field of human trafficking define high-quality residential care and supportive services for children in foster care will be shared. Presenters will conclude with recommendations for child welfare policies and procedures.
